Song or calls:
Listen (NGPC audio) “Seweep tsurp seep,” with last part rising. Calls high “peep” and soft “wit.”

Description: Sexes similar. Grayish head contrasts with grayish-olive back; light throat; gray wash on breast; pale yellow belly and undertail coverts. Thin white eye ring, and two white wing bars. Fall birds are yellower below than summer birds.
Behavior: Often flicks wings and tail more vigorously than other similar species.
Habitat: Usually found in coniferous forests at high altitudes.
Where in Nebraska: Accidental. One specimen collected in Dawes County in 1911 and additional records from 1995 - 1998.
Fun Facts: The Hammond's Flycatcher pulls wings off moths before consuming their bodies.
